    Fire protection systems

The comprehensive Gielle fire protection systems portfolio for room and object protection comprises solutions with natural or chemical extinguishing agents, gas/water-combined as well as water mist solutions. To optimally ensure the continuity of your business processes, the solutions are tailored to your specific applications, risks of fire as well as local requirements and regulations. In addition, they include a comprehensive service offering – from risk assessment, system design, installation, and commissioning to maintenance.

    Water fire suppression systems

Gielle introduced, pioneered and developed the world’s first medium and high velocity waterspray systems and water fire suppression systems that were designed to extinguish oil fires and fires involving flammable liquids and gases by the use of water only. Today they are installed in every corner of the world to protect a wide range of plant and equipment for the petrochemical, pharmaceutical, marine and power & transmission market sectors.

    Deluge fire systems
Water spray deluge systems are typically used in hazardous environments where fires may spread very quickly or where valuable equipment surrounding the fire needs to be cooled.

    Water spray fire systems
Water spray nozzles are designed to spray water directly onto the hazard surface via a series of nozzles with a carefully predetermined spray pattern. They are suitable for a variety of special hazards including transformer, turbines and combustible liquid hazards and systems can be individually tailored to your needs.

    Water mist fire systems
Water Mist is a versatile and highly efficient fire-fighting medium. What differentiates Water Mist from traditional water based systems is its reduced droplet size. When a droplet of water vaporises, it expands by some 1,600 times. Because heat absorption is a function of surface area and not volume, smaller droplets mean more surface area and therefore faster heat absorption.

    Sprinkler fire systems
Gielle offers end-to-end sprinkler systems to protect your people, business and assets. Sprinkler systems can automatically detect a fire, transmit an alarm and control the fire. This can be the difference between a minor accident and a major business shutdown. Led by professional project managers, Gielle’s engineers design, install and commission reliable, cost-effective sprinkler systems by carefully analysing your buildings and facilities in terms of occupancy, operation and fire risk.

    Gaseous fire suppression systems

We understand the challenges of fitting gaseous fire suppression systems into areas housing sensitive equipment and where business continuity is a critical factor. With the need to protect such assets, a reliable solution is required. Our response is twofold: time-proven agents that leave no residue and are safe for the protected equipment. Our systems may help reduce footprint, complexity, and the size of the pipe network. In short, our technology expands system flexibility, enabling engineers to accommodate gaseous fire suppression systems in a less obtrusive way while addressing the specific requirements of a protected area.

    Novec 1230 fire systems
Novec 1230 fire suppression system uses an inert carbon-based chemical that powerfully fights fire yet is safe for property, people, and to the environment. It looks like water but doesn’t cause the damage normally associated with water because it contains no moisture. The result is lower repair bills and less impact on business. Novec 1230 has no harmful impact on the environment. It has an atmospheric lifetime of only five days while the closest chemical alternative has an atmospheric life time of 33–36 years.

    FM-200 fire systems
Gielle FM200 systems are based on many years experience in the design, supply, installation and commissioning of gaseous fire fighting systems. FM200 is a colourless gas which is liquified under pressure for storage. Like Halon 1301 it has a low toxicity level and is superpressurised with Nitrogen to 24.8bar (360psi). It rapidly extinguishes most commonly found fires through a combination of chemical and physical mechanisms.

    Inergen fire systems
The Inergen gaseous system is an inert gas fire suppressant consisting of natural gases and extinguishes fire without causing harm to people, property or the environment. Inergen system is designed to detect smoke, release the extinguishment gas and suppress the fire before any significant damage occurs. It is designed to exceed the requirements of World Standard for Gaseous fire extinguishing systems.

    Halotron fire systems
Halotron products are halocarbon-based clean fire extinguishing agents with a wide variety of commercial, industrial, maritime and military applications. They are discharged either as a rapidly evaporating liquid (Halotron I) or gas (Halotron II) that leaves no residue. This minimizes or eliminates the potential damage to valuable assets like electronic equipment, machinery, motors and construction materials that is typical of conventional dry chemical–based extinguishing agents.

    Carbon dioxide CO2 fire systems
Carbon dioxide is a clean gaseous agent, in plentiful supply and can be stored in either high pressure cylinders or low pressure tanks. It has been used effectively as a fire extinguishing gas since the early 1900’s. Carbon Dioxide systems can be used for either total flooding or local application and are ideal for protecting high value assets where large quantities of agent is required. These include dip tanks, rolling mills, data processing centres, vaults/tape storage and marine machinery spaces.

    NAF S 125 fire systems
Suitable for use in rooms, vaults, enclosed machines, containers, storage areas and wherever fixed enclosures are present. It is an electrically non-conductive media, it can therefore be used to protect electronic and delicate equipment. After discharge NAF S 125 does not require the clean-up of the protected enclosure, making it extremely useful in applications where damage by other extinguishing methods would be prohibitive.

    Foam fire suppression systems

High and Low Pressure CO2 System Foam used in fire protection is an aggregate of air-filled bubbles formed from aqueous solutions, and is of lower density than the lightest flammable liquids. It is mainly used to form a coherent floating blanket on flammable and combustible liquids to prevent or extinguish fires by excluding air and cooling the fuel. It then prevents re-ignition by suppressing the formation of flammable vapours, and also adheres to surfaces, providing a degree of exposure protection from adjacent fires.
Foam can be used as a fire prevention, control or extinguishing agent for flammable liquid in tanks or processing areas.

    Low expansion foam
Low Expansion foam offers a 5:1 expansion rate, making it the foam system of choice to protect large and hazardous facilities, including; petro-chemical tank farms, loading docks, processing areas and refineries and liquefied natural gas storage.

    High expansion foam
With an expansion rate of 500:1, High Expansion foam systems are more suitable to protect less common three-dimensional hazardous facilities including; warehouses, conveyors, aircraft hangars and tunnels.

With both low and high expansion foam systems, once a facility has been evaluated either an ‘Aspirating’ or ‘Non-Aspirating’ discharge device’ will be recommended, based on the facilities requirements. For maximum effectiveness the expansion ratio, discharge device and foam concentrate must be correct. With our knowledge and expertise, Gielle can recommend the most appropriate devices for your situation.

    Fire detection systems

Fire detection systems from Gielle provide unbeatable accuracy and ease of use for building, personnel, installers, and firefighters. At the first sign of danger, our reliable fire detection systems trigger a coordinated alarm, people are led out of the danger area via voice messages, and extinguishing systems are activated.

An automatic fire alarm system is designed to detect the unwanted presence of fire by monitoring environmental changes associated with combustion. In general, a fire alarm system is classified as either automatically actuated, manually actuated, or both. Automatic fire alarm systems are intended to notify the building occupants to evacuate in the event of a fire or other emergency, report the event to an off-premises location in order to summon emergency services, and to prepare the structure and associated systems to control the spread of fire and smoke.

Our fire detection and alarm systems offer reliable, early detection of all fire types coupled to superb false alarm management. They protect life, property and assist business by detecting fire at the earliest stage, allowing more time to evacuate, respond and extinguish fires before they become life, building or business critical.

We offer a turnkey approach to fire protection, by offering solutions that are designed, supplied and installed complete and ready to operate.
